Where did you come from?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 01, 2007:

The stork dropped me off the wrong place!  is what I told me grandmother when I was five  years old.  I still think that sometimes... That's why I think that I am from someplace vastly different than this planet and that's why I am chronically homesick.  And maybe that's why I love birds nests.

You're just homesick for the comforts of the cozy cave of your original home (mother) … hence the love of bird's nests.   But, young birds, much like ourselves at birth, are kicked from out the “nest” and tossed into the world to sink or swim, live or die.  Like those little birds, we are programed to look over our shoulder to watch for predators and do the best we can.  :)

Peace Out, Miss Maria Full of Grace … .

Well, I have to admit, I am only King of Middle Tennessee.  In Tennessee terms, like King of Middle Earth, I suppose.  I'm afraid that my deepest stirrings today were at the bottom of a wooden spoon in a pot of chili.

My wife has a cousin who lives in Sedona.  Small world.  Go figure.

I had a very bad dream last night of my mother and my husband dying. I wish I could stay at home at watch the hawk babies in the garden next door, but instead have to go into the world making money.

I hope you have a good day and left over chili!

I am sorry to hear of your bad dream.  My dreams are so vivid (ever since I was a small child) that it is sometimes hard to distinguish the dream from the real.  I accept them as life experiences.  Sometimes they help one prepare for the real thing.  Hey, you've already been there!  Ah, going into the world to make money.  A curse that hangs over all our heads.  As for the chili, I make an awesome chile.  A recipe I have worked on for the past twenty years.  I call it Johnny Montana's Peyote Dream Chili.  As my son says: “It's always better the second day.”  There is truth to this.  The only ingredient that I leave out these days is the peyote. ;)  I use the “family style” recipe.

Take care
